Spring Break

Hello, friends.

AT LAST, I am on Spring Break.
Geoff and I drove up to the bay area on Friday after my community service, and stayed at his parents' house overnight. The next morning, we borrowed the Denali, and drove up to Lake Tahoe to the Lueckers' condo. We'll be here until Friday, visiting the snow.

Oh, I don't think I told you guys about my community service. In order to graduate, we have to do a certain number of hours of community service, and my Compassion class requires me to do that LAF this semester, so I'm volunteering at the San Bernardino Animal Control Center. It's a lot of fun--I signed up for doing 3 months of work there, 2 hours a week. I hope to continue it even after my hours are filled, maybe working in adoptions. My job now, is to walk certain dogs in one of the kennels and socialize them so they can be adopted. I love taking the playful ones out to the outdoor playpen and running around with them. Great exercise for both of us. I'm not allowed in the puppy house yet, but I still visit them and fall in love with the pitbull mixes, because they are the most adorable little things I've ever seen. It's so hard not to bring them all home. I really enjoy helping the dogs get adopted, since the majority of them will get put down after getting sick or being deemed "unadoptable". I really do feel like I'm helping make a difference in their lives.

Anyway, back to my vacation.
I have a lot of homework to do, but I'm still enjoying myself. There's lots of snow, but it's fairly warm, so the snow that's coming down is sort of more like a "wintery mix". Tomorrow, if it's not raining, Geoff is going to teach me to snowboard. :) For now, we're relaxing with movies, and staying warm in the hot tubs nearby. I finished Mom and David's logo for their new company they're starting, "Frog and Fox Theatre" yesterday. It looks pretty good, and they really like it, so I'm real excited for them. I hope everything else from here on goes well!

Hopefully I will make a snowman before we leave. :D

Oh! My birthday is in like... a month! Ahh! I'm super excited.
Well, not that excited anymore.
I got a little too excited before, and started planning for my celebration on the day of my birthday, since it is conveniently on a Saturday. However, it turns out Megan and Robyn will be gone on my birthday... probably some Beta Lambda thing.. So I don't know really what we'll do.. I know Geoff will take me out to dinner which will be great--he always makes me feel better. But otherwise, it looks like my actual birthday won't be as epic as I'd hoped.

Oh well.
That's all I guess.
I hope everyone is well. I love you all.

First Update

As you may know, I have been up to my ears in work.
Late nights, early mornings.

So, forgive me once more for the lack of updates.
I do have lots of pictures now though!

A few weekends ago, Geoff and I went to Joshua Tree to climb and to try to get some more shots of painting with light after the moon went down.

It didn't work out so well, a
nd I actually had terrible luck that weekend, but the pictures during they day with my little point-and-shoot were rather interesting...

Here is one of our HUGE fire we made, after having to sacrifice one of our log seats to burn for warmth.

Farewell, good log seat. You shall be missed.

In other news, I saw a rock shaped much like a camel's mouth.

See it? Unmistakable.

Anyway.

We did a lot of climbing, though not with ropes like we'd wanted to... in fact, we ended up scrambling up the rocks by ourselves, carrying all our equipment on our backs... But it's alright, it was still fun.
We at least got a nice view of our climb.

I've been doing a lot of work in Graphic Design -- our projects are very fast paced and fairly involved, so it's taking up most of my time, unfortunately.. Even my weekends are pretty stressful with all the work I have to get done before Monday. Sigh.

Oh, so it's Valentine's Day tomorrow. Happy
Valentine's Day to you all who celebrate it. Papa and Grandma sent me a super cute card in the mail--thanks guys--so even though I'm not that into this "holiday", I did smile.  In c
ase you were wondering what Geoff and I were doing, we'll be having a relaxing Saturday. We've got to make an appearance at a party for a bit before we intend to come home and relax with some champagne and chocolate. Maybe a movie.

We have one more week until Spring break! I can't wait.. Geoff and I are going up to Lake Tahoe to stay in his parents condo the whole time! He is going to teach me to snowboard, and perhaps we will do some skiing. I expect lots of snow, but there is a hot tub nearby, so I'll probably spend most of my time in there, knowing me.

Also, I've been experimenting more with a technique called "painting with light" in my photography. I love to hear your feedback, so I will post some photos for you guys every once in a while and you can tell me how decent they are. :) Yes? Here are two to start.

Hmm... I guess that's all for now.

Oh! I found out how to type in Japanese on my computer!

今晩輪! きと の 日本語が わるい ですよ。
じゃあまた。

Hope you all are well! I love you and miss you all lots. I know Papa was having trouble accessing my website... has anyone else had trouble? Let me know!

Welcome to my new blog.
It's cuter than the old one, and has cooler fonts.
Also, pictures look better here.
